Mike Schield Passes Away

Mike had been fighting severe health issues for most of his life and his body finally gave up the fight.

Well, Mike's premature return to racing didn't go as planned. The plan was simply to finish in the points and try to minimize the losses in the long run to the championship. The result was that Mike went out for the first moto, got a great start, was a bit of a roadblock, and came together with Josh Grant. Mike went down in a heap and sat in the middle of the track looking like he was in disbelief at what had just occurred. He got back up and rode around for a couple of laps then pulled off, not to return for the rest of the evening. Color his series over, at this point.

Sheri Cruse

Cruse was fast again at Lakewood, which was the site of her WMA debut last year. She made an impression then and made another one this time, going 2-4 for 2nd overall.
